Facilitating Financial Linkages for Women Entrepreneurs and Sanitation Workers

Access to timely and affordable credit remains a critical barrier for women entrepreneurs and sanitation workers, particularly those from underserved communities. Recognizing this, Key Foundation complements its financial literacy programs by actively facilitating financial linkages that enable beneficiaries to access business loans and credit. This support helps women and sanitation workers move from awareness to action, empowering them to start and expand small enterprises and achieve economic independence.

A key component of this initiative is linking beneficiaries with relevant government schemes that provide financial assistance and livelihood support. Key Foundation guides women entrepreneurs in accessing schemes such as Mudra Loans, which offer collateral-free credit for micro and small enterprises, and DAY-NULM, which supports skill training and employment opportunities in urban areas. Additionally, through Swachh Bharat Mission, sanitation workers are supported to transition into safer and more dignified livelihood opportunities, while TAHDCO provides targeted financial assistance for women and SC/ST entrepreneurs.

The foundation plays a crucial role in handholding beneficiaries through the entire process, from identifying suitable schemes to assisting with documentation, application submission, and coordination with banks and government departments. Many first-time applicants face challenges such as lack of documentation, limited awareness, or hesitation in approaching financial institutions. Key Foundation bridges this gap by providing continuous guidance and follow-up support, ensuring higher success rates in loan approvals and utilization.

Through these financial linkages, beneficiaries are not only able to access capital but also build confidence in engaging with formal financial systems. This initiative strengthens their ability to invest in income-generating activities, improve household livelihoods, and contribute to local economic development. By enabling access to institutional credit and government support, Key Foundation is fostering a pathway for sustainable entrepreneurship and financial inclusion among women and sanitation workers.
