The "My Rights" initiative by Key Foundation educates women in low-income settlements ont heir legal rights. By bringing training sessions to their homes and workplaces, the program ensures accessibility and empowers women to assert their rights, seek legal recourse, and challenge inequalities. This initiative fosters confidence, legal awareness, and collective empowerment for a more just and equitable future.

Despite legal provisions granting equal rights and protections, many women, especially those with limited literacy, remain unaware of their legal entitlements. To bridge this gap, Key Foundation launched the "My Rights" training program, a community-driven initiative designed to educate women on their legal rights, property rights, equal wages, workplace protections, protection against domestic violence, and social entitlements. By conducting these sessions in low-income settlements and workplaces, the initiative ensures accessibility and relevance, empowering women to advocate for themselves in legal and financial matters.

One of the key components of the training is educating women about property rights, including their right to inheritance and land ownership. Many women, particularly in underserved communities, face challenges in claiming property due to patriarchal norms and lack of legal awareness. Through interactive discussions and real-life case studies, participants are informed about legal provisions that protect their ownership rights, ensuring they are equipped to assert their claims when necessary.

Another major focus of the program is equal wages, workplace rights, and protection against domestic violence. Many women, particularly those in informal labor, face discrimination in wages, unfair working conditions, and job insecurity. The training educates them about labor laws, wage parity, maternity benefits, and workplace safety. Additionally, women learn about legal protections against domestic violence, available support systems, and how to seek help. By educating women on the Domestic Violence Act, legal recourse, and shelter options, the program enables them to break free from abusive environments and reclaim their safety and dignity.

Beyond legal awareness, "My Rights" training fosters self-confidence and collective empowerment. Women are encouraged to form support networks, share knowledge within their communities, and seek legal recourse when needed. These sessions not only provide legal literacy but also equip women with the tools to challenge systemic inequalities and protect themselves from abuse. Post-training follow-ups ensure that participants continue to receive guidance and support in addressing legal concerns.

By bringing legal education directly to women’s homes and workplaces, Key Foundation ensures that knowledge reaches those who need it most. The "My Rights" initiative is not just about information—it is about empowerment, agency, and action. Through these trainings, women are no longer passive recipients of rights but active participants in shaping their own futures, advocating for their dignity, security, and equality.
